The EvalHum Initiative is pleased to open the call for participation for its first international conference on Research Evaluation in the Social Sciences and the Humanities (RESSH), to be held in Rennes, France, from the 4th to 6th June 2015.
This major conference follows a highly successful international workshop on Quality in Humanities Research held in Rennes in June 2014, as part of the "QualiSHS" project, supported by the French network of Maisons des Sciences de l'Homme, as well as a series of meetings held within the context of the EvalHum Initiative (www.evalum.eu). The aim of this event is to bring together a wide range of researchers and stakeholders interested in questions of research evaluation and the societal impact of the Social Sciences and the Humanities (SSH).
Keynote speakers will include:
Johannes ANGERMULLER, University of Warwick and École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales - EHESS, Paris
Gabi LOMBARDO, Senior Scientific Officer for Social Sciences at Science Europe
Catherine PARADEISE, Institut Francilien Recherche Innovation Société - IFRIS, Paris
EvalHum is an open initiative, aiming at promoting the study of SSH research and increasing its visibility among scholars of other fields and disciplines, the lay public and stakeholders and decision makers. Evaluation appears as an interesting tool to achieve this.
Evalhum seeks to break both locked-in and locked-out syndromes affecting the SSH, through bringing together all actors, with an emphasis on research evaluators, but also on the shop floor of the SSH researchers.
